New LibrarySearch now live!

We are pleased to announce that our new LibrarySearch discovery service is now live.

LibrarySearch replaces the old Library Catalogue and it has lots of great features. It gives a more modern interface:

The new interface is optimised for mobile devices allowing you to use it more easily wherever you are (and this means we are discontinuing the Bookmyne app).

It has a more integrated search which will give you results from books, eBooks, articles, journals and more:

You can refine your results using options such as publication date, resource type, online availability and more.

You can sign in to access your account, place hold requests, renew books, and access online full-text resources.

Signing in will also let you use additional features such as

● Creating a favourites list
● Saving your search history
● Setting alerts for updates on new content that matches your searches
● Emailing results to yourself
● Exporting details of books, eBooks, and articles to resources like RefWorks

LibrarySearch can be accessed by using the search box on the library home page or going directly to the main search page.

LibrarySearch also replaces the old Journals List so if you are interested in finding out what journals the library has then please take a look at this guide.

New LibrarySearch coming soon!

We’ve got some exciting news!

Over the past few months we’ve been working behind the scenes to develop a new LibrarySearch system that will make finding library resources quicker and easier.

LibrarySearch will replace the current Library Catalogue and Find A Journal.

LibrarySearch will give a more integrated search (showing books, eBooks, articles, journals and more) in a modern interface with several new features.

It will look like this:

LibrarySearch will go live at the end of May. Between 29th & 30th May you won’t be able to place any holds, although you can still borrow and return items.  This will be followed up in June by a new reading lists system with a similar updated interface to LibrarySearch.

Do I need to do anything?

Signing into your new LibrarySearch account will remain the same, and anything you currently have on loan or on hold will be transferred to the new system. However, if you have any lists saved in your old library catalogue account, you may want to take a copy of these (you can print or email items from My Lists in the old catalogue) as they will not transfer to the new system.  You may also want to take a copy of your Checkout History as this will not be transferred.

If you want to do this, you should do it by 28th May.  If you have any questions, please get in touch with us at
