Digimap downtime on 27th January

The library have received notification that Digimap are undertaking some updates to the registration system and the work to enable this will mean downtime for the database.

Here is the information they have provided:

As you may be aware, we have been developing a new Registration System for Digimap. Release of the new system requires a significant period of service unavailability.

• New registrations for Digimap (using the current system) will be closed from 4pm Monday 26th January.
• Digimap will then be unavailable all day on Tuesday 27th January, while we put the new system in place.
• The service will be available again by 9am on Wednesday 28th January.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused but due to the significant changes required to release the new system we must close access to Digimap during this time.

We urge you to create any maps or download data that you may need during the period of service unavailability in advance.

The new registration system will allow users to register and instantly access Digimap Collections via email verification, speeding up access for new users significantly. We hope that this much improved interface for registering will help make up for new users being prevented from registering during the release period.

Existing registered and active users will not notice any change, but Digimap will still be unavailable to them on Tuesday 27th January.

 

24 hour library opening now finished

The 24 hour opening period is now at an end and the library has returned to it’s normal opening hours.

The library will be extending its opening hours again from mid-April through to the final exams in May and more details will follow about this closer to the time.

Scheduled upgrade – Library Catalogue, Tuesday 27th January 2015

Library systems are undergoing an important upgrade and as a result the Library Catalogue and BookMyne mobile app will both be unavailable from 2pm Tuesday 27th January for the rest of the day.  Please contact us at the Library library@rgu.ac.uk if we can be of any assistance.
