Open Access Week: Finding Research from other Universities

header_865x180

OpenAIR @ RGU is RGU’s open access repository i.e. it hosts items like theses, journal articles and conference papers produced from research done by RGU staff and students.

And there are a large number of other university repositories that host a wealth of research for everyone to access. There are lots of ways you can find these repositories and search them.

You can go to the sites themselves. A full register of repositories can be found here: http://roar.eprints.org/. This will give you links directly to the repositories themselves where you can search and then download, for example DSpace at Cambridge or ePrints Soton.

Or you can search services like:

CORE: http://core.ac.uk/search/
OpenDOAR: http://www.opendoar.org/search.php

That let you search across lots of repositories at the same time.

And you can use search engines like Google Scholar that will pick up results from all open access repositories as part of their search.

This is our last post for International Open Access week, we hope you have enjoyed the posts and the programme of drop-ins and workshops this week and remember you can contact the library at anytime with queries about Open Access.
