New Library Resources to Support Health and Social Care Integration, Practice and Research

New 2015

We’ve added new high quality full text resources, research databases and evidence based clinical decision tools to the Library collection. With other Scottish Universities we are also working with NHS Education Scotland to explore future opportunities for joint procurement of Library resources to support health and social care. Seeking to improve on our research coverage in the social sciences earlier this year, we have replaced the Assia database with a new portfolio of online research databases:

SocIndex with Full Text
Criminal Justice Abstracts
Family Studies Abstracts
Peace Research Abstracts
Race Relations Abstracts
Urban Studies Abstracts
Violence and Abuse Abstracts

These are all delivered on the EbscoHost platform that we are familiar with and link to full text directly or with the Findit@RGU article linking tool.In addition to these we also offer the following evidence based best practice tools, three of which are also from Ebsco, each presented on its own platform:

BMJ Best Practice
Dynamed and DynamedPlus
Nursing Reference Center Plus
Rehabilitation Reference Center

These resources are accessible from the new library website and database A-Z list
