Resource spotlight: Digital images from SCRAN

Scran is a database that gives access to over 390,000 items from museums, galleries, archives and the media. The majority of these are images but Scran also includes movies and audio files as well.

Items can be found on art and design, culture, social sciences, sciences, tourism, and much more. For example you can find images of: tigers, Sean Connery, a Turner, a Dali, standing stones, a pint of beer, an integrated circuit, wind-up radio, a barn owl, golf courses, Edinburgh architecture and so on.

To take a look at what Scran offers simply go to our digital images web page, locate Scran in the list, follow the link and log in with your RGU username and password when prompted.
